Default Salutations from NW Washington State

Hello, my name is John, and I have a Parker problem. What? This isn’t a 12 step program? Oh, well. There are worse addictions. Never mind.

New member, but I’ve used this site as a resource for close to 30 years. Until This month I’ve only owned a 1930 Trojan. Upon returning home in December from this years Montana trip with my soon to be 14 year old setter, I was dismantling my gun for cleaning and the screws holding the forearm iron to the wood pulled loose. Using this site as a resource, I promptly sent it to a gunsmith for repair. With the season end nearing, i was anxious to get another chance to shoot some birds behind my old friend. So….. I purchased a 1929 12 ga. VHE (cuz it’s choked more open than the Trojan) with 2 1/2” chambers(and 5 cases of shells cuz….ain’t goona find em in eastern Oregon, Washington or Montana when I need ‘em).

Then I spied a single barrel trap gun (sc?) that I took delivery of today. I ran the serial number and learned it was made in 1917. It looks almost new, and I suspect it’s been refinished. Waiting for my account authorization to obtain a letter from this group that can provide some provenance. I intend to use this at the little trap range about 4 miles from home. Rather this than my game guns.

Next Thursday I take delivery of a reproduction 28 ga. (Cuz…. Do I really need a justification?).

Check sent and soon to take delivery of another reproduction. This one’s a 20 gauge with 26” barrels, choked IC and MOD (cuz….. grouse).

Something tells me that time spent amongst you will not abate this affliction. And I’m ok with that.

Carry on
