My VH had a white line on it when I got it, also bad. Fortunately, the screw holes were the same spacing as the Silver, and there were no other holes in the wood, so if the same for yours, you will likely be able to fit a Silver without having to add holes in the buttstock.
Would be interesting if the gun was ordered without checkering. Not likely, but who knows what the records might show.
And, I do not often see 1 frame 12s. Most of the PH12s I have seen were on 2 frames.
