Here is another example of some serial number oddities that we see from time to time that is simply a reminder that the guns were made by men in less than ideal conditions by todays standards.

This is a Remington Era VHE 20g Skeet gun. Number 240684. Note on yhe back of the trigger guard it was stamped 240”0”84 and the “0” was overstamped with a 6. And the engraving is the same way. A 6 engraved over the 0.
