Bill: the 1 1/8 MAX proof mark was only used 1896-1904.
42 grains of (Bulk Smokeless) "E.C." or "Schultze" was 3 Dram Eq. and the standard loading with either 1 1/8 oz. or 1 1/16 oz. in a 2 1/2" case.

Thanks for your comments. They seem to go along with the loads and patterning they did on the gun back in 1902.
