Just came upon, and joined, this group! I inherited an old Parker, around 45 years ago, from my grandfather. It's a 'lifter' model, and according to the serial number it dates to 1875. Just recently started taking an interest in learning more about these fine guns. Will be sending for a 'letter' to see what it uncovers. I also have a Fox Sterlingworth (1915) and a Winchester model 21 (1933.) All inherited from my grandfather. I also picked up an L.C. Smith (1947) around 30 years ago. My Parker is far from pristine, but the honest wear that it shows often causes me to pause and think back on all the service it gave to my grandfather, and others before him!
