I assume it is a 12 gauge? If it is your grandfather's gun, I hope you keep it or pass it to a family member who will.
. . . and if you plan to keep it and shoot it, it may be worth having a gunsmith go over it and make sure it is sound to shoot. A lot of us use RST shells which are low pressure and easier on old wood and metal.
