a havanese that hunts?
The other day I was outside with our brittany trying to train him to retrieve. Our 4 year old havanese was outside with us too. The havanese follows our brittany cash all over, trying to keep up, he can only stay on the driveway because the snow is so deep. I tucked my toy I have wrapped with a pheasant feather just on the edge of the driveway to let cash find it. The havanese ran to that side of the driveway first and stopped, lifted his front leg and turned his head sideways and looked at me. Cash ran over and went on point, our havanese finally ran over to me and looked back at cash on point and ran back and stood next to cash and went on point again. I wish I had a camera right then. I play a game with cash trying to teach him to retrieve, Our havanese wanted in on the game too, and would try to get to the retrieving dummy first. I had to put a halt to that, so I just let them both play outside for a bit. My wife named our 2 havanese after cuban cigars because the havanese are originally from cuba. The white one is "cohiba" he is 11 years old, the brown one who went on point is "bolivar" or boli for short. His head is cocked to the side in this picture similar to when he went on point.
