I am just being very selective and trying to not take in more than I can handle. I am already uncomfortable with what I have in house now. And I want to work my backlog down. I am just ONE person and it is difficult to keep up.

I can say that I know one way that some of these guys get out to 4-5 years backlog. It is by taking EVERYTHING that comes to them. It is VERY easy for things to get out of control.

If your gun is tight and on face on lockup, but just has some movement with the gun open, it is likely forend lug wear and not so much hook wear. Or a little combination of both. Some movement on the hook when open is not unusual for a gun that has seen some use. The graded Parker forend design (as well as graded foxes) do not hold up well over time and things wear and become loose.
