Restore or not...need opinions
Attached is a photo of a GH for sale with Damascus barrels that have been rust blued and has an oil soaked stock that needs recheckering and refinishing. The price is unusually affordable and I'm thinking if the barrels can be restored and the stock properly rechecked and refinished I'd purchase the gun. I do like the configuration of 30" barrels choked IC/F and the gun seems to fit well. The frame was restored at some point and has nice case color. My questions are, 1) do you think by looking at the photo the stock is too oil soaked to be properly refinished and 2) can rust blue Damascus barrels be restored to original barrel finish? Thanks for your input beforehand.
