Trying Victors Blue Dot Load
First of all thanks to Victor for sharing the loads he has had tested. Greatly appreciated. Went down back yesterday with my two 10 gauges to try out some Blue Dot loads. They were 35 grains an 1 3/8 ounce of 7 1/2's. Been thinking about selling one of them and was hoping this might help me make up my mind. I do not count pellets or bench rest the gun. I eye the target, mount the gun quickly like shooting at a bird and let go. Helps me know how I am shooting and figure out which one I shoot best. Some of the patterns are slightly off center as a result. The E.M. Reilly shoots slightly higher than the Remington. Both are 10 lb guns but with different balance. The E.M. Reilly has bigger breech end barrels and the Remington heavier barrels out at the muzzle. Like them both a lot and what the heck I guess there is room for two tens. Anyway I was very pleased with the patterns. Here are some pics I took that I hope will show the 40 yard patterns. The right barrel of the Reilly is more open than the Remington. Pictures are one from each barrel. The Remington overall shoots tighter and I have gotten some quite good 65 yard patterns with number 6 shot. Both seem to like the heavier shot. Really like shooting these bigger guns....
