I realize this is not the question you asked. I'm just throwing it out there for thought. Sherman Bell published an article in Double Gun Journal regarding longer shells in short chambers. The short and long of it Bell found shooting a 2 3/4" shell in a 2 1/2" chamber increased chamber pressure by 300 psi. He deduced the increased pressure was negligible. I have gleefully shot 2 3/4" shells in an 1881 Lifter Parker Twist Steel Barrels with impunity for decades. As a side note I am delighted you are afield with guns too good to sit in a dark closet.
