Mr Harris, the Parker SF office was the hotel suite of Parker's West Coast agent, Arthur DuBray, ex Civil War, ex 7th Cavalry, racconteur and hail fellow. All explained in Muderlak's embellished account KNIGHT OF THE TRIGGER . DuBray maintained a stock of Parker guns but mostly took custom orders and appeared at major shoots and events up and down California, which then as now has extensive wing shooting opportunities.
The Sutter was then as now a residential hotel, not a hotel for hunters.

Here is a DuBray gun ordered for an executive of Los Angeles Iron and Steel Works, San Bernadino. This gun was ordered with a matching 16ga for the same purchaser, which I have tried unsuccessfully to find for ten years.
