Thank you all for your input. Very helpful.
I'm going to go over the barrels with the Hoppes and frontier pads and see what happens. I'll repost some pics to show how clean I was able to get them. I've done this a few times on badly rusted guns however they didn't hold the value this one does which makes a little more pucker factor.
Good eye on the but plate. It is slightly chipped as well as the wood. I'll add a closer pic of this and I will inquire with one of the Smiths on this site.
That is the bottom of the rib. Top pic added. I don't think he barrel was cut.
I intend on ordering the letter.
Next question, and hopefully not a dumb question, do you guys hunt with your Parkers? I fully intend too because in my opinion that's why they were made. My upland gun is a Belgium made over/under Browning. Am I making a mistake with this thought process- shooting the gun?
