Default Greener cross bolt dissassembly

Does anyone have disassembly tips for a typical greener crossbolt type action? I have a German gun that is very tight, yet when closed the crossbolt is loose- if you turn the gun on its side it will mve about a 16th of an inch. This gun is not off face or loose at all - it's very tight.

Seems like when the lever is closed its not actually putting any pressure on the cross bolt. I know the Greener cross boot is of dubious value in regards to the lock up but I would like it to be tight.
