Default MERCURY MAGNUM...

while not quite what one would describe as a fine double, this Spanish/Eibar double packs a punch. It is unlike all the others "Mercury" magnums I have ever seen as the checkering is very fine, the walnut is nice, cheeks are pointed and refined unlike the circular ones on others, and the receiver is nicely case colored. But in a 10 gauge with thirty-two inch barrels it will reach out there. The barrels are marked "half-full" and full, unlike all the others I have seen (full-full). It must have been a very early production as they even spelled Mercury "Mercuri."

Anyway, I had never shot at a turkey with it so I wanted to break it in having owned it twenty-five years. The distance was a good forty steps, as I sit in the open against a tree turkey hunting, I don't give them the opportunity to spot me if I can help it. It took an hour and a half to call this bird in. Believe me, this gun is hard to hold up as it is so heavy on the front end. Third and last one for the year! Sorry about the obnoxious breathing in the video; I will soon learn to take the caller out of my mouth after the turkey is dead.

Shot is about at 3:30 in video
