Grouse season opened here in northern Idaho on August 30th, but today was my first chance to get out. Last year the local hatch was abysmal, so I didn't know what to expect. My yellow labs managed to put this one up for me, and my restored Trojan 20 gauge (www.classiccasecolorsLLC.com) made short work of him. Hopefully this is an indication that there are some grouse around this year.
