jim you have a fairly rare gun there in that 3 in ideal grade..i like these old 3inch guns your gun should make a good goose gun..i m not a goose hunter not enough in my area to really hunt...now there is several turkey around me and thats my game..those old 10 ga smiths will really reach out there it sounds like you had a good load for those pheasants..sorry you cant hunt with buckshot to me its a good deer stopper if range is kept close... if i was you i would load up that old belgum gun and go for it..i m trying to get a deer with a 8 ga hammer parker with a pumpkin ball load did not get one last year with it but it will be back in the woods this fall.. jim do you have any parkers... charlie
