Chances are that the colors were restored by Delgrego. Maybe some come other parts of the gun, like bluing and stock finish. And yes, the checkered side panels are not correct. They are most likely covering up come sort of repair. Someone has stamped the chokes into the flats which was not factory work.

Does the top rib have a makers mark of an type on it?
