I encountered that early on. The mec loader is somewhat fussy about the crimp. I was trying to approximate the short kit with a shim and or just adjusting the cam settings and it sonly kinda worked. The chedditte hulls arent much to push on so if its set wrong the case isnt stiff enough to resist the crimp pressure.The short kit made it easy, frustrating as that is to admit. If youre still having issues I would call mec and have them explain the adjustments, its pretty subtle. With a known load there is usually plenty of room, often too much.
One of the selling points of the roll crimper but once your adjusted you should be fine
