I don't remember seeing them before I was struck blind by the entire forearm design. That has always been a peeve of mine. I am not a fan of a beavertail on a double anyway, but can appreciate its functional contribution if shooting a lot. However, I have never understood why stockmakers insist on making them the size of a 2x4 which you can't even wrap your hand around, and designing the lines so that they wander up and down the side of the barrel like a mountain range. I have an upgraded 20 ga Smith that was upgraded (not metalwork of this degree) that had incredible stocks by a really top tier nationally known stockmaker. I bought it because the price was 1/3 of the replacement and it had the original stocks. It had a similar forearm, and I shiver every time I walk by it.

It is nice work though.
