Breck: Thank you for the tip. I ordered some 12 ga 2.75" per your recommendation from them. Will see how they behave in the Damascus. And the folks at RST were kind enough to answer my email and alerted me to their protocol and how to get on the "notification" list for the out of stock items that become available.
