Default German Forend Warning

With The Greatest Generation about gone, and Baby Boomers retiring, there will be a lot of old German double guns appearing on the market.

Some of them have what appears to be a typical Anson type push-rod forend arrangement.

Some might. But some do not work like that!

If you cannot get the forend off by pushing the button and pulling the forend off the barrels. STOP. Don't force things. You probably have an attached forend.

OPEN the gun first. Then push the latch button. Then remove the barrels from the gun. The forend will remain attached to the gun/frame. It was designed that way. By Germans.

Don't ask me why. I'm Anglo...
