A little over a year ago I had a G grade 20 ga. with spotty and worn wood. I found the recipe for French polish-I think here. I cleaned the stock off with alcohol, mixed up the ingredients and started. A very small amount is used at each coating. At five coats it started to take on a nice depth an shine. I stopped at seven coats. More would have given even better depth. After a drying period I put on a coat of Johnson's paste wax. Don't know if it was needed but I like to shoot that 20 and do it in all kinds of weather.
