Default cocking hook

i have a ph grade hammerless 10 ga serial no in the 114000 range...the gun has quit cockinh the hammers..this happened before and i shimmed the cocking hook withthick card board and it worked for a while...i have took the cocking hook off the barrels will try to tig weld it in a few days but before i do i wanted some info on yalls thoughts about this...i looked at the cocking hook on a 12 ga and a 20 ga these guns are made in 1903 and 1904 the cocking hook on these two guns are different than the 10 ga and it was made between 1901 and 1902...the 10 ga does not have the slot that runs the entire lentgh of the hook...it looks to have a small slot at the very end of it..has any body else had problems with the cocking hook and fixing it by welding or brazeing it up... charlie
