unless I am seeing it wrong ,the gun in the back has quite a smaller statured stock. Are these both 0 frame guns?

That was my point. Both guns are Damascus barrel 0-frame GH-Grade 28-gauges, very close in serial number and the one has a much larger stock than the other. I don't have the other gentleman's name with me, but he was from the Pittsburgh, PA area. He drove west from the Burgh and Kevin and I drove up from Virginia and we met at a rest area to compare the two guns. I seem to recall hearing his GH-grade later moved west to Missouri.

Can you imagine the stir you'd create if you took out two guns at a rest area today? You'd be all over the 11pm news.

Well, I will assume then as the "Lt" would represent lite. I think your picture shows a difference that one wouldn't need a caliper to tell the difference.

I am sure Lt is referring to weight. It is in the space where a weight would be entered. So,instead of a requested weight, the buyer is asking for a gun lighter than normal. To make a gun lighter PB would take metal out of the barrels and stock. Mark

Is the stock under the but plate bored out? Some guns are. I found hunting lisence from 1917 inside one.

No, its solid . But thats not a bad idea as I have backtracked a few times to find my license swinging from a crabapple limb. Damn pin clasps...

Edgar, I guess the reaction you get when looking at guns in a parking depends on where you live. I've done it up here and never given it a second thought. Then again, they still bring trappers into the public schools here to teach the kids about conservation on the trapline and basic trapping skills. I doubt you see that much down south.
