Default Happy Independence Day!

A happy Forth of July to all! In between the BBQ, hotdogs, family gatherings, and fireworks we all should take a minute to thank those brave souls in Philadelphia 250 years ago that boldly signed their names to what amounted to treason! I've always admired John Hancock, you could read his from across the room.

It’s only treason if you lose. God Bless America!

I think of the rank and file commoners who won the war, many of them losing their young lives. No one alive today can imagine the hardships they went through. It was a long seven years until official freedom.

Sometimes the older ways are the best ways to celebrate Independence Day.

Here is how one house builder did it in the year following the conclusion of WW II, on an island off the Maine coast.

Spirit of '46?
