to spend opening morning (today is first day af firearms season)
this guy was around the house most of yesterday having a long standoff with another equally matched buck. I assume both were looking for the doe that has been hanging around.
but, first thing this morning I look out at the patio and he is bedded up against the low stone wall on the other side. Eventually, He got up, stretched, checked his scrapes and laid down in the goldenrod where he can see all comers well in time. The low morning sun highlights the crown well.
