When my dad introduced me to competitive pigeon shooting when I was about 15, I was young and naive. I asked if we could eat those pigeons and if they were like doves. His reply was "give it a shot". We ate a few, but I haven't eaten shoot pigeons since. In today's world, shoot pigeons are for dog training, not for human consumption.

If a pigeon comes across my dove shoot it may end up in the frying pan. Very good.
