Default The perfect Saturday morning

A great sunrise, followed by an unlimited fight of Mourning dove! It was for the most part another Parker/ Fox shoot with the exception of my cousin bringing a Webley Scott 20. No White Wing today, one Eurasion and 60 Mourning between the four of us. I think the Eurasion were camping in the commodities barn till late morning. The others shot a variety of Parkers and gauges, I shot my Fox HE and Sterly 16 straight stock. Still a great morning, the smell of gun powder, pipe tobacco, and fresh coffee filled the air at sunrise.
Looking forward to next weekend!

Here you go Mike, the reward of the hunt. I forgot to mention a little Kroger brand steak sauce at the end on the grilling part.

Supers are big fun on the dove field! I like one ounce Fiocchi Interceptors (spreader loads) in the right barrel and one ounce regular loads in the left. With the two very tight chokes in mine the Interceptors give me an instant selection for close in shots.

I've been using the Interceptors on close in, unpredictable trajectory clay targets for many years. They are a very high quality shell, IMO. BTW, I just now found this article on them by an old shooting acquaintance of mine, Will Fennel.
