Default Another Name for Composite Barrel Refinishing - Trevor Rice

Trevor Rice is Buck Hamlin’s grandson and by the pics he sent me his work is first rate!

Decide for yourself, but I’m convinced.

Trevor can be reached by PM through this web page.

Trevor worked on a set for me - beautiful job.
Trouble now is, do I have the rest of the gun brought up to what the barrels are.

Dean is it inappropriate to ask the ballpark price, in general, to have a set of bbls redone by him? And the timeframe? Thanks jeff

Ah, yes, the age old conundrum. Been there, did that. Keep your stick on the ice, we're pulling for you Clark!

The damascus refinishing examples by Trevor Rice you've shown Dean are stunning. I find the last example you've shown is particularly interesting in that it has a fluid steel bottom rib. I'm not sure if those barrels are Parker, but I've been told that was somewhat common among damascus Parkers. Since I've been paying attention, I have seen very few damascus Parkers with fluid steel bottom ribs, other than the 1911 12-ga. 30" DH of mine shown below.

Trevor sends me photos of his finishing work often. It is looking very good. In my opinion it is far better looking than Buck ever did. Buck had a taste for Browns. Not for true B&W.

The Bernard barrels Dean shared are for a CH grade that we are working on. Trevor did a really nice job on them, he is working hard to get his process down to science. Brian is spot on, for some reason Buck was stuck on doing everything brown and Trevor is on board to do the correct black and white on American guns. Trevor will tell you Buck was no fan of Parker guns for some reason, no idea why.

My next set of Damascus barrels will go to him. I’m pretty disappointed with the last set of barrels I had done.
The pictures of the barrels done by Trevor, really POP.
