Default Dove season

First day is tomorrow,1/2 hour before sunrise.Time was it started at noon. This was to keep down 2 limit violators.Today there are only a few participants compared to the holiday like openings of the past.Hope my fellow Mississippian, Charlie Cleveland, is looking down on us.Good luck and safe hunting to all who can go tomorrow.

It opens in Va 9/1 also but I’m pretty sure it’s still noon here for either the first week or the first two weeks then it goes to all day .

Idiots in Virginia made it one day only opening at noon, second day at sunrise. Game officials must have special invitations to go to a baited shoot and BBQ afterwards on opening day. Or maybe shooting resident geese (10 bird limit, 30 in possession) first and then doves in the afternoon.

Dove season opened today in Ohio. Sunrise to sunset. Good bird numbers. Parkers were representing.

Had a good morning in Mississippi. There was a larger shoot on adjacent property.Good to see a number of young people at that one.It was a good sign for the future and the future of Parker collectors. We are only caretakers of Parkers and hunting.Bully for the up and coming hunters.Another good sign is a new gamebird for us,the eurasian dove.Interesting birds, they seem to get along with mourners with similar habits. We have seen a decrease in mourning doves from past times. The eurasians are nesting here and seem to be doing well.I hope this is a good thing.

Hugh, are the Eurasion considered an invasive species there? If so, is there no limit on them, and can you shoot them year around? We've had them here in AZ for years, and we do shoot them year around.
