My mistake Greg. I went back over my notes and -False Alarm- the records I've seen and the P's I have seen and held were 20 gauge guns.

I was just looking over my P serial number repro 20 and measuring the chokes (.010-.015) on the 26” barrels. I realized that they don’t say anything about being made in Japan. They have an East Alton, IL address. That’s a bonus as far as I’m concerned and I would pay a little more for it as a result.

Concerning the canvas cover for P repros, P-483, a 20 ga. did come with a canvas outer cover for the case. just like the later guns....From all the info I can find, P-483 must have been one of the later P guns...

Phil, it's possible your "P-Gun" may or may not have been originally furnished with a C&L outer cover. Or it may have been added aftermarket. We have seen many listings through the years right here on this site of them being offered. Here's a link to one of those offerings:
