Matt, your modified at .015 is a standard Winchester modified. Your choke has not been opened.

Thanks for the Mod choke info Bill . I was originally hoping for .020, but I am now quite pleased with the improvement of scores as-is. My local club is the Clark County Sportsman Club near Springfield Ohio. Great club with super nice people, clubhouse, 2 courses, and lots of older shooters with a wealth of old gun knowledge. I am getting there slowly but surely.

Love M21s! Currently don't own one, but have had 2 12s, a 16 and a 20, all field grades. The 12s, 1 28" and 1 30" made great duck guns, the 28" 16 bored CYL & MOD was a great grouse gun, and I shot the 28" 20 ga. better than any SxS ever; a real killer on doves. Another reason I love them is I made some money on all of them when I sold/traded them.

I've sold a few, and I've kept a few. I bought the first two in 1965, when I was 19 years old.

Both of mine are twins being Field 12's, Double triggers and 30 inchers. Both have same weights, same drops, and are stamped Mod and Full. First had been opened up to .010 and .015. It's really nice on the Woods course. It also had been refurbished to like new condition prior to my purchase so I am reluctant to use it for more than Clays usage on sunny days...
As far as posting pix, I'm locked out of e-mailing my laptop phone pix till late Dec. Dang-it I bought these 2 (my 1rst and 2nd) this year being a ripe old age of 68 years. Shoulda gotten these much sooner like Bill did. Course I would have waited till 1976 to be same age.. Mattly |

Hey Matt! You’re never too old to start buying Winchester model 21’s. Everybody shoots better with a model 21!

I still have a small covey of Model 21s, but prefer to shoot my Parkers because of the greater variety of gauges and features.
