I watched the auction on the live stream. It was fun watching the bids change in real time. I did mark down all the sold prices in the catalog just for grins. I must say it was definitely more exciting than any NFL, NBA or college hoops. It is especially cool knowing who bought what. That adds a major "cool factor" to the auction.

Mike, did you have a list of the bidder numbers? By the way, we saw what we think is Destry's old Churchill 8 gauge. Sixteen thousand some odd dollars.

I bid on 8 or 10 guns, but not seriously. They were out of ny reach generally before my bid was submitted and acceptet.
I bought only two guns; one of the cheap doubles from Europe needing work and the Citori Browning 16 in the box. I wanted it for hunting. I have looked for new ones for over a year and they are just getting heavier, This one was near the perfect weight for a field 16. The 16 is my favorite gauge, and I own around a dozen or few by my count, but not a one with over 2-1/2" chambers. Sometimes you just want one that you can buy a few shells and not worry about where you take it. I watch quite a few auctions and I was amazed. Neglecting the ones in the stratosphere, I thought almost every lot was hammered at it's absolute maximum expected street price, then the vig added. I only saw one lot passed with no bid. |

It was as professional as an auction that I have ever been to and I have been to many. Even though I got outbid on the 2 guns that I came for-I still enjoyed the event. I don't think that I was ever at an auction where they served oysters and drinks at the preview and even fed you on auction day that was all on the house. Also- meeting with several Parker Gun collector members especially Randy Roberts and Gunner Grilli. Even though Randy was busy looking at the items he was bidding on he took the time to look at some guns for me and give me some good advice. Gunner Grilli who came clear from California brought me one of the Parker Brochures that I posted in the Parker Collectors want section and a beautiful Parker Patch that I can use on my table cloth for display. Two first class Gentlemen for sure! I am looking forward to the fall auction and want to personally thank Josh Lowensteiner and Mr. Deeter for doing such a professional job of putting on such a fine auction.
