Default Value of a Trojan 20 GA.

I have a Parker Bros. 20 GA. S/N 161034.

From this site I identified the following markings:

Frame Size: 0
Barrel Wt.: 3 5
Grade: OV
Steel: Trojan

Condition is at least fair. Any idea what this gun is worth?
Thanks for the help.
Jason

Jason there is pretty wide range to value for a 20ga Trojan with many variables that must be considered. Trojan is the lowest grade Parker, but you have a small bore. Things people need to know are barrel length and is it original length, is it all original condition (how much case colors remain on receiver, how much barrel blue is left) with matching serial numbers, is it solid and fully functional etc. You didn't provide enough information for anyone to make a good guess and that is why I think there are no responses yet. Lots of pictures are essential to start to get any idea.

One way to get an idea of value is to see what other similiar guns sell for (gunbroker, auctionarms, gunsamerica, gunsinternational etc) for sale sites will show the "listed" price, list price can be helpful to get a rough idea of the top retail price but like so many things often price is negotiable.

A beatup Trojan 20ga might fetch + or - $1000, a solid original condition $2500 to $3500, and a minty one $4000+ these days (listed prices). Condition and orginality is everything.

PS. 20ga trojans came in two barrel lengths 28" and 26" the 26" is less common, it may add a little to the value if compared to a 28" gun in the same condition provided the 26" barrels are factory orginal.

Your welcome, start posting some pictures with details (you will most likely have to put them on Photobucket or Flickr and the like and link here). Show us the gun as much as possible, others will probably give some advice when they can see it.

BTW: I like Trojans, my first Parker was a Trojan 12ga and I can't imagine parting with it and would rather pass it down. Trojan was the lowest grade but it still says Parker Bros. on the receiver. You can take pride in that, you are shooting the best there is in double guns.
