Default Browning Superposed comparison

Right is a Dewil engraved Diana from 1965

left is a Funken engraved grade 5 from 1949.

What a difference 15 or so yrs makes...I prefer Funken.

Both 2 barrel sets.

Love the early high grade brownings.

I prefer the Funken engraving too, James. It seems to have much more relief than the one done by Rene Dewil. Bas relief isn't always attractive to me. Some of the Teutonic style deep relief just seems overdone, IMO. But, that one is very nice.

Thanks for posting that.

I like the deeper relief but I especially like the
gnarly tree on the Funken grade V.

Go back another 15 years. Pre war Diana

Feliz was The Master! I like Andre's engraving also, just can't recall his last name off hand? Think he studied under Felix. I also prefer the early wood and it's dimensions on the early ones.
