Default Parker 20 Damascus info needed

Hello,
First off I like to say I am new to the site. I Joined to help my father get the research he needed for his DH hammerless 12. He is not as computer savy. I love the site and hope to visit and contribute often. Hope you can help below.

I am wondering how hard are 20 Gauge guns in Damascus to find? I was looking at trying to pick up a GH in a 20. Anything lower than a GH would be twist correct? Approx how many were made? And what can I expect to pay for a well used piece? I'd be looking for a shooter not a collector. Something with most of the original finish gone. Am I in the 3k range or more? I guess I am just asking how scarce are these and what is the market getting these days. I appreciate the help!
Jim

Their scarce and I think you will need to come up in your price. If you find one around 3K grab it

Default 20 gauge Parkers

There are fewer 20 gauge Parkers than 12 gauge guns but the 20s are not all that scarce ... All VH and Trojan grade Parkers have fluid steel barrels and older GH and higher grade guns have Damascus and Twist barrels ... You should be able to locate a nice 20 gauge shooter with Damascus barrels for under 3 Grand with a little serious looking ... Check the GunsAmerica.com ... GunsInternational.com ... and GunBroker.com websites or the Ivory Beads and Puglisi Gun Emporium sites listed in the "LINKS" section of this sites.

Pugs guns had a GH 20 with damascus barrels for sale for $5k. It was nice and it was there for about a year, so I would guess that the price was pretty high. I think a decent shooter for $3k is realistic. Keep an eye on the websites Jim suggested and on will come up.

A decent shooter for $3K might be possible, but you'll have to see it first, as it won't last long. I wouldn't sell mine for that, and I'd jump on another one at that price, if I seen it before Jim.

A nice GH 20ga damascus sold a year ago in a private sale for $4200. I don't often see a good one for less.

You will have to be quick to be first in line at three grand.

According to the Errata Sheet for The Parker Story there were 446 GH-/GHE-Grade 20-gauge doubles built with Damascus barrels. There were 249 with 28-inch and 145 with 26-inch barrels and the rest scattered from 24- to 32-inch. There were 129 20-gauge DH-/DHE-Grades with Damascus barrels.
