Hi Unregistered,
On July 29th, this site will be moving..! No, really - it's "moving" to another physical location - including servers, gateways, routers - everything - including my coffee cup...
So, from the date of July 29th through July 30 or 31 (shooting for these dates, but - as always, I'm at the mercy of my ISP who has to install the lines to the new location - and we actually get them running ;) ). But - this site, cloud servers and main web will be OFF LINE.
Now, please save these dates!! Please - don't be "that guy" who emails me on the 30th to tell me you "can't open the Parker Website". I'll already know it is offline - and also know that you are "that guy"...
I'll take this notice up and down over the next week or so - and leave it up during the final few days before shutting it off on the 29th..

Decreasing the drop at heel of a Parker stock
I am looking for suggestions on how to permanently decrease the drop at heel, and make a beautiful old DH more shootable. The stock dimensions are approx. 1 3/4" X 3 1/4" X 15". I would like to get it to about 1 1/2" X 2 1/2 X 15". It is apparently not a candidate for stock bending due to an old hairline crack at the wrist which has been professionally repaired.
I would rather not re-stock the gun or use slip-on or glue-on pads. Has anyone ever had good results in decreasing drop by re-inletting a stock?
Thank you. Bob Roble

Sir,
Some have done permanent re combing jobs. Austin Hogan has an article about this in one of the past Parker Pages.
Find a local stock guy who will be willing to give it a go if you dont mind altering the existing stock.
Basically the existing comb is cut down flat from the nose of the comb to the heel. Then a monte carlo style piece of wood is grafted on to fit your dimensions and the stock is then refinished.
There may even be some photos about this in the old forum pages.
Good luck,
John
