That's the dilemma. The number is not listed in the book or the site inquiry. I also checked the G&H site to see if maybe they once had it but no joy. Thought I would ask here as many have seen and examined far more than I have.

VH grade, O frame. Seller states 26" barrels with M/F chokes. This also raised a flag with me. I'm waiting on the measurement of choke lengths.

Yeah, i would be suspect. The matting looking like that would not be abnormal for a Trojan. But on a VH, there should be a pretty definiati e termination along with a hand engraved line.
Combined with the non-original bead and the length, they may be cut.

It looks nicely trimmed only. The keels are in place and the rib matting terminates short of the end of the rib with the addition of applied matting to the very end of the rib.
Double click on the picture and look closely and you will see that where the line across the rib at the end of the matting would normally be the matting does not precisely join with the applied matting to the end of the rib. We have seen similar applications of engraved matting and other peculiarities which indicate uncut barrels. .

Brian, what to you indicates a non-original bead? Parkers were often ordered with ivory beads or sent back at a later date to have them installed. .
