Parker Bros. Patent 88,202

Does anyone have Parker Bros. shells as described in Patent No. 88,202 in their collection?

I don't believe I have ever seen one as shown in Fig. 5 of the patent and I'd really like to see actual pictures of the shell head rather than imagine what they look like from the drawings in the patent.

Along these same lines - we have an incredible resource in the work Robin Lewis has done for our benefit, in compiling all Parker Bros. patents with hyper-links to the patent as it is archived in the U.S. Patent Office.

I wonder how often folks look at the links and really get into them to learn more and more about everything Parker.

Then click the tab "Technical Information" and right up top are the hyper-links to the Patents, both gun-related and non-gun-related. Click on any one of the hyper-links for the patents and it brings up the patent with both the drawings as well as the original text of the patent.

Gary, and anyone else, on the left side of the Home Page is a vertical column of tabs you can click on. Halfway down is the tab "Collector Information" (that is just the heading for the various tabs beneath it). You can click on any tab beneath that heading, or above that heading and you will be connected with all sorts of information.

The tab where the Parker Bros. patents is found is the "Technical Information". There you will see the "Gun Related Patents" and the "non-Gun Related" patents. (these hyper-links are blue in color) Click on the "Gun Related Patents" and it opens up to a list of all Parker Gun patents. Click on the (blue) hyper-link to the far right of patent no. 88,202.

Dean: I do refer to the gun patents from time to time when tackling something that I have not done. The diagrams are sometimes helpful. The write-up becomes long and complicated to decipher at times but I think Robin did a great job with this addition to the site. Have had no issues opening any of the patents. Also, have never seen any original Parker shells. I lead a sheltered life. Cheers, Jack
