20 ga. cly. bore
done some more testing today with the 20 ga. it was a single barrel with barrel h. r. cly.bore.distance was 30 yards and 40 yards. loads were 7 /8 ounce lead hand loaded with nofiller orplastic wading.i presume loads would would have been same as 1940s or older loads.at 30 yards a person would have a good pattern. at 40 yards very poor pattern.i came to the conclusion that at 40 yards old time shells with cly.borenot a very good quail load. but from 30 yards and closer the load and choke combination would be good.would be hard to miss from 30 yards and closer.these are my personal finds and opinion.wish i could go back in time and ask some of those great quail hunters of the past.what are yall s opinions. charlie
