I too like the "folk art" on your Model 70, they are such great rifles.

I had a very good Hunt this weekend but I was not in proper condition at my age of 71 to complete the task of harvesting a deer. I went down this draw and when I had to come back out I didn't think I was going to make it without having another heart attack. I have to realize that my Deer Hunting trips will now be spent mostly in camp as camp host and sipping George Dickel Tennessee Whisky. I find more Deer get shot in camp anyway or as the story's flow. I may have a Deer and Elk rifle to sell here shortly. The Elk gun is a Winchester model 88 in 358 so stay posted. Thomas

Winchester 88 in .358............................pretty rare 88. I had a killer 88 collection that I sold four years ago. I had all ten 88 configurations pre and post 64 in rifle and carbine models, all in 99% to 100% condition, and most with the original box. My "jewel" of the collection was a .358 unfired with the original box, with cosmoline still on the working parts. The .358 was not popular with the gun buying public, and most were returned to Winchester to be converted to .308's. That's why so few remain. Prices have dropped for 88's in the last few years, but I realized a 30K profit on my collection. I sold at the right time.

Steve: I can find two online and they are asking in the 4600.00 dollar range so that must not pertain to the 358 Cal. Model 88 and I realize that is asking price. Thomas
