Default The Gun From Hell

After Chris Dawe did a wonderful job restocking this gun, I had it back here this fall just long enough to shoot it at the Vintagers. Then it was off to Brad Bachelder for his magic.
It arrived back here last Monday, and since it was so cold this week, I spent the last three days in the basement workshop making it a new case. It's pretty much the same as the case I made for my other Grade two 16, just a tinch longer to hold the 30" barrels. As much as I liked the olive colored worsted wool I've used in the past, it wasn't available, so I chose a traditional maroon.

I have just seen both in person and let me tell you the pictures do not do them justice.
The case looks like it came out of a shop in London 100 years ago. It is just perfect for the gun. And did you see that Damascus oil pot?
And the gun..... I could shoot it all day long although Edgar will probably not allow that to happen. It throws up like it was fitted in Meriden.
What a combination.
And Edgar is not lying- I have the dated photos he sent. He did the fit-out in 3 days. At first he said to me it was a week and then I reminded him. It was 3 days. And you know it wasn't continuous work by Edgar: a little work, some tea, play with the dog and cats, change his oil, complain, post something on the Forum, complain, look at guns for sale, a little work, repeat, repeat.....
And I don't know how he finds anything in that shop.

That is wonderful from toe to keel (that's on a boat whats the name of the metal between barrels). You gun the same kind of surroundings as mine.
