Drop it in a can of kerosine and let it soak. Then use a small brush and some compressed air.

Well knowing that information the soak in the diesel fuel seems reasonable followed by blowing out the loosened crud and degreasing with aerosol break cleaner.

If you have access to one an ultrasonic cleaner with soap and water works really well, yet you probably want the action totally disassembled for this.
