Default Vote - January 2010 Parker of the Month.....

My sincerest thanks for all the entries from this month!! It was an outstanding representation of pictures of Parker. As a reminder - the winning picture from this voting thread will be shown on the opening page of:

http://parkerguns.org and be reserved for the month of January Calendar.

To vote....

Scroll though this post and select you favorite picture (PLEASE DO NOT ENTER NEW PICTURES IN THIS THREAD!!! Only those from this thread are eligible for this month... ) After you have the Image name of your favorite picture (Image #24, for example...) - scroll back up and click the VOTE button for that Image Name.. If you really can't decide - you can choose multiple pictures - but please - do not vote for all of them, OK??

Good luck to all...!

John

Roger,

I beg to differ with your first premise... The picture currently in the lead, the one of the frozen gent with his hat on backwards trying to get his gun closed, seems to have been taken ad hoc with a point and shoot. Although interesting, it does not appear to exhibit any extraordinary photography skill. On the other hand, I beg to agree with your second statement... all the guns are indeed beauties. I very much enjoy seeing ALL these photos. It's entertaining to see other folks' guns, dogs, game, gear, and hunting areas.

I voted. I voted for the best representation of Parkerdom. I am the only one who voted for the picture that I voted for. No problem. They are all great pictures and great guns. One suggestion, next month, the person who presents the George Bird Evans style photos, don't present entries that compete against yourself. They are wonderful pictures.

This has been a lot of fun and I think John is about to make an announcement. One or two of the photos were submitted in a rather 'tongue-in-cheek' way which, fortunately, didn't detract from the serious submissions and the voting. I voted for #20. It has balance, clarity, identifiable subject matter, good layout and great contrast - in my opinion, a real winner!
Most of the other photos submitted were a wonderful cross-section of what we do with our Parkers and a great way to share with others in the PGCA how we all love this shooting life. I am proud to be one of this bunch. Thanks

I am embarassed to say that Image #5 is a picture of myself, where I was caught red-handed stealing the forend from Scott's 20 ga. Damascus DH. I actually had the forend in my jacket pocket and had the gun back in the rack when I was confronted by the photographer and Mr. Dunkle saying they had me on film. "HA-HA" says I. Not me, I don't have it!" (and I didn't either . . . I had ditched it but told them that I had put it back on the gun) Well, Scott said "I've got no use for an old decrepit shotgun with no forend. Here John, you take it - it's yours, I don't want it!"

And that's the truth . . .

...psst - John... I know you had another forend made for that thing but by sheer happenstance I think I know where the original is... for the right price of course.

Dean,

Scott's lawyers will be in touch, I'm sure...

Seriously folks - as has been noted in the previous posts in this thread, this months entries were simply amazing. We have a huge group of talented photographers who enjoy taking pictures of some wonderful Parkers "doing what Parkers do best...".. As well - I think Dean said it right when he posted above:
