A hammer 16, in grade 2 damascus, on a zero frame. Any length barrels would be just fine. Dave

I actually own it already, so the dream is realized.

COB:
I will certainly second your position on guns too nice to use. I once asked Peter Blaine, GM of Purdey's if the finest guns his firm makes are too special to use. "Absolutely not!" he said. "That's what they're made for. Use them!"

My dream gun is just that a dream, a 10ga Trojan, 30" on a 2 frame, 8 1/2 pounds, with dimensions that fit me.

Pete, I have 2 frame VH 12 with barrels shortened to 26". I shot a 1&1/2oz mag in once and burst the left barrel, probably honed out, maybe obstruction. I bit the bullet and paid Kirk Merrington to sleeve a new set on the old block, skeet choked. The gun is very effective and gets a lot of use; but, I got to thinking, what if I had Kirk put a couple of short chambered 10s on it with skeet chokes.

10's are fun but to me the fun is the enhanced long range performance over smaller bores. So with that said I like your idea but the skeet chokes take away from what the 10 does best.

Exactly. With an added 20% weight of shot at the same velocity, you should be able to extend the range of field shooting and over decoy work by 10 yards or so. Also, a short barreled, 7&1/2 pound 10 without a Wells Fargo stamp would be kinda cool.
