Default Easy as One, Two,…..Tree!

We have had a decent number of woodcock here in Southwest Ohio this year. Nothing spectacular but at least more than usual. The gun is a 28 gauge on a zero frame, one of my favorites. Cold weather pushed through the last couple of days so bring on the Ducks! Have fun out there

Haven't had any time to get out and check on the wc migration thru eastern Ohio. Just got back from 3 weeks in the UP and trying to recover, will probably head out tomorrow pheasant hunting and check out some Woodcock covers. Wrap that branch in bacon and halogens. Grill lightly.

It brings out the flavor of wood in the woodcock…

Rick, I'd have that tree mounted. It's a beauty of a trophy!

I think that you use the wood to smoke it not mix it up in the meat

Yup, I mounted mine. Doggone thing sacrificed itself in order to save the 7-pointer I was aiming at... It would have been a perfect heart shop...
