Gournet uses a hammer and chisel, which I feel is more appropriate for classic Parkers/Foxes etc. Wonder if the other engraver used a Airgraver? PS. Gournet has done 2 guns for me so far and another will soon enter the hopper. I also have one done by Bob Strosin which is excellent. Bob used a Airgraver far as I know. I think he is now semi-retired.

Looking back at this thread it is such a terrible loss to not have Gournet with us anymore. I had sent him a DHE 20 to have him turn the pointer on the left side of the frame into a 2nd setter. He did a wonderful job. I was playing around with the idea of having him do one of his woodcock on the initial oval and I will always regret not doing that.

Geoffroy engraved his beautiful trademark ‘woodcock flying before a full moon’ in the bulino style for me on the trigger guard bow of a 16 ga. Lifter.

I remember this thread from years ago, and had the same thought as Bob. The three trigger plate screws have Two G (squiggles to Brian) which makes sense to me knowing the engravers name was Geoffroy Gournet

I agree Edgar (and that’s unusual).
