			This example predates the transition of the open game scene to that of the oval vignette we more commonly see. The open game scene is a carry-over from the engraving design of the hammer guns. That odd screw appears to have been removed and replaced a heck of a lot more than the other screws ever were.... perhaps an ill-informed previous owner believed he needed an oil port for his gun... this probably contributed to the stock head splitting from oil saturation. .

			That looks like the one that was for sale forever and then dropped off.   That engraving pattern was on GH and EH Parkers from the first ones through 62,xxxx, approximately. | ||||||
