Thank you Calvin.

For those interested, Dr. Dick Dow and I are walking/jogging the Bataan Death March Memorial Annual Marathon at White Sands New Mexico on March 17, 2013. Dick's father was a Death March survivor and we are honoring his memory by wearing tee shirts with his picture. I'll be 66 and Dick 68 or 69 so if we can do it, anybody can. Its 26 miles across sand dunes, through scrub and up through the mountains overlooking the missile test base.

Before or after, we will likely go up to the San Juan for the waters.

So, let us know if anybody else is so inclined.

Just now watching "The Great Raid" about an Army Ranger rescue operation in the Philippines of a camp full of death march survivors - Cabonatuan. Quite the story and a very good movie with a bunch of original footage at the end. Seems I read a good book about this operation also. Maybe I'll just put on "Act of Valor" next....

Richard, The book Goast Soldiers I read was about Cabonatuan. I'm glad you told of the movie I will watch it. The leader of the Philippine soldiers had two ideas about the operation to take the prison camp that were very key in the outcome. To delay to let some Jap. army leave and to fly a plane around over the camp so the guards would look up wile the 6th Rangers and the PI gorillas crept up on the POW camp. They picked a P-61 Black widow to fly around for a deversion the strange looking plane was perfect.

Bruce, If I did not have Bovine I would head down. One of these days Jett is going to be able to do chores and I won't have to skip your fun adventures.
